JOB DESCRIPTION: Assist electronic production/manufacturing by testing, upgrading, and conducting quality control on state-of-the-art electronic and sonar systems designed for fisheries research. This job requires a minimum of 3 years as an electronic test technician. Experience with sonar, acoustics, and/or radar is desirable, as is experience with DOS. Applicant will participate in the development of processes and tests that affect or measure acoustic performance, set specifications for acoustic performance tests, participate in setting internal specifications for processes or tooling that affect acoustic performance and well as assist production personnel in identifying and resolving issues related to acoustic performance. In addition, some customer interface will be required in order to assist with the optimization of performance test methods and specifications for transducers and probes. This position requires a BS or MS in engineering with coursework or experience in acoustics and signal processing. Acoustic training and/or experience should include an understanding of array theory, Fourier transforms and basic statistics. Experience in Matlab and programming would be helpful.
