The postion is a mix of research and consultancy work. The research centers on gaining a better understanding of the biology of native fishes and recreational fisheries that center on those fishes. Consultancy work is has a very broad range, some is conservation work assisting the New Zealand Dept. of Conservation develop protection programs for native fish, other projects includes the work with local council and regional authorities designing river management schemes, and final expert witness appearances in environment court hearings.
Salary Range: NZ $40000 - $70000 ($18,384-32,172 U.S. Dollars)
