LIST OF FIGURES

Figure 1. Relative size distributions of fish captured in the first seine haul (A), second seine haul (B), and overall inventory (C) in pond A1 on April 6th, 2004. Fish size in the first seine haul ranged from 0.1 to 5.3 lb and averaged 0.6 lb, based on a random sample of 615 fish individually weighed with a bench scale. In the second seine haul fish ranged from 0.2 to 6.6 lb and averaged 1.0 lb, based on a random sample of 533 fish.

Figure 2. Relative size distributions of fish captured in the first seine haul (A), second seine haul (B), and overall inventory (C) in pond A2 on April 7th, 2004. Fish size in the first seine haul ranged from 0.1 to 5.4 lb and averaged 0.7 lb, based on a random sample of 805 fish individually weighed with a bench scale. In the second seine haul fish ranged from 0.1 to 5.4 lb and averaged 0.4 lb, based on a random sample of 310 fish.

Figure 3. Relative size distributions of fish captured in the first seine haul (A), second seine haul (B), and overall inventory (C) in pond B1 on April 13th, 2004. Fish size in the first seine haul ranged from 0.1 to 2.5 lb and averaged 0.6 lb, based on a random sample of 658 fish individually weighed with a bench scale. In the second seine haul fish ranged from 0.1 to 3.2 lb and averaged 0.6 lb, based on a random sample of 696 fish.

Figure 4. Relative size distribution of pre-graded (A) fish inventory, small graded fish released back to pond (B), and resulting overall inventory (C) in pond C1 on April 22nd, 2004. Pre-graded fish sizes ranged from 0.04 to 7.6 lb and averaged 0.8 lb, based on a random sample of 858 fish individually weighed with a bench scale. Small graded fish released back to pond ranged from 0.2 to 1.2 lb and averaged 0.6 lb, based on a random sample of 528 fish.

Figure 5. Relative size distributions of the fish captured in the first seine haul (A), of the fish captured in the second seine haul (B), of the graded fish harvested out of the first seine haul (C), and of the resulting overall inventory (D) in pond C2 on April 16th, 2004. Fish size in the first seine haul ranged from 0.2 to 5.3 lb and averaged 0.9 lb, based on a random sample of 446 fish individually weighed with a bench scale. In the second seine haul fish ranged from 0.1 to 4.3 lb and averaged 0.9 lb, based on a random sample of 288 fish. The graded fish harvested out of the first seine haul ranged from 0.2 to 8.3 lb and averaged 1.7 lb, based on a random sample of 343 fish.

Figure 6. Relative size distribution of the fingerlings stocked in verification ponds (A1, A2, B1, C1, and C2) in April-May 2004. Results are based on random samples of 113 to 160 fingerlings per pond measured to the nearest half-inch.

Figure 7. Daily amount of feed fed per acre per verification pond since the initial inventory assessment in April 2004.

Figure 8. Estimated pond biomass variations per acre, based on the initial inventory estimated in April 2004, fish harvests, and the amount of feed fed daily with a feed conversion ratio of 2.25.

Figure 9. Daily amount electric paddlewheel aeration applied per verification pond since the initial inventory assessment in April, 2004. One hp-hour/acre of aeration is the equivalent of one hour of aeration for one 10-hp paddlewheel on a 10-acre pond.
