- Web pages added for newly established -
Aquaculture Fisheries Research
Educational Library (AFREL), the Aquaculture /
Fisheries branch of the UAPB campus's John Brown Watson
Memorial library.
- The library is here for our students and anyone that wishes
to find valuable information on the growing industry of
Aquaculture.

- The Graduate Information
section of the website has been fully added. New
information regarding housing, dining, emergency numbers,
activities and all related info to Graduate Student Life is
available in this section.
- The undergraduate
scholarship and financial aid pages have been fully updated
with databases of grants and scholarships. This new
information should help many graduate students who are looking
for ways to pay for college, etc.
- Upcoming events section of the website
has been updated for 2006. New flyers and press releases
are available for the AQFI Aquatic Sciences Day and the AQFI
Field Day of this year.
- The graduate student awards
page has been updated to include past and previous awards for
students.

- A new section has been added to the
graduate program area of the website. The new section
is entitled "Student Life".
- "Tutition and Fees" link was only displaying on main
graduate page. Added to all
sections within the graduate program area of our website.
- Financial aid/scholarship information has been updated in
both the graduate and
undergraduate sections.

- The fish museum photo
gallery has been updated to include various photos of students
collecting samples out in the field. Descriptions for
some photos have also been updated to correct errors.
- Dr. Steve Lochmann's
personal pages have been updated with current info
- Personal pages of Dr. Michael
Eggleton has been updated with current publications, new
photographs, etc.
- Graduate and
undergraduate sections are currently undergoing additions
and adjustments of content.
- IAAEM website has been
updated to include their latest volumes. 2005 and 2006
volumes are now available through our website
table of contents.

Application for Graduate Student Travel Award has also been
added to IAAEM webpage.

Photo Galleries |

- New photo gallery section has been
added to the main overview section of the
website. Here you will find listings of all of our
current photo galleries. Galleries can still be found in
their original sections of the website as well as the new
listing section.
- Fish Museum gallery has
been added to the gallery listings
section. This gallery consists of a photo guide to
sampling and identifying fish for the currently
under-construction fish museum (located in the Applied Sciences
Building).

- USDA ARS "Building a Better Fish" video has been added to
the extension and
research overview pages. You
will find them under the "Baitfish" headings.
Note: Files are encoded with Windows Media Player (streaming).
Files are presented in a low and high quality format as well as
in a transcript form.
- The research highlights
section has been updated with highlights from years
2002 and
2003. You are
now able to browse through each year seperately.
- Extension highlights
for 2003 have been
added.
- Numerous typographical errors fixed throughout website.
- Dr. Michael Eggleton's
website has been
updated with the latest course information.

- Extention highlights
for 2005 have been added. Archived versions of 2004
extension highlights can be found

Back for the Summer |

The webmaster has arrived for the summer, and pages are now
undergoing updates:
- The Research Highlights
section has been updated to now include the
Highlights for 2005.
- Fixed broken links throughout the links,
extension,
graduate, and undergraduate
sections of the website. All external links should
now be fully operational. If you notice any mistakes or
errors, please contact the
web admin.
- Graduate student
awards are in the process of being
added to the graduate student section of our website.
Expect continued additions to the page.
- Faculty pages are also in
the process of being updated. E-mail addresses as well as
new personnel have been added to the listings. Some
listings may still be incomplete; however, as new data is
received it will be updated promptly.
- Graduate student listings
are also undergoing updates. Telephone numbers as well as
office locations are in the process of being added.
- Virtual Tour section
updated to fix formatting issues and added photo of Woodard
Hall.

More Site Updates

New updates today include:
- Large Photo
Gallery has been added to the website. You can view
it from the main page (the Overview
link on the left) and then click on "Visit
Our Gallery!" from the information box on the right
hand side.
- You may also view the photo gallery from any part of the undergraduate
section and graduate section, by
selecting it from the top-center navigation links.
- All e-mail addresses have been replaced by graphics to
hopefully prevent automated bots from cacheing e-mail
addresses.
- Text only transcripts have been provided for all of our
video footage that contains audio, etc. (see undergraduate
recruitment video section) This is in html format
and is accessible (can be read by text readers).

Updates

Over the past few weeks the
website has been undergoing changes:
- Links within the website's main content (body) are now
underlined with dotted/dashed (depending on browser) lines.
- External links should now open up in a new window.
- Accessibility has been greatly improved. The website
is now readable via text readers, and improved the sequencing
to be much more logical . PDF files have also been going
through an overhaul as well. The majority are now
accessible and the rest are still being worked on.
- Video Footage of the In-Pond Fish Grader has been added to
the Harvesting
& Grading Fish page under the Aquaculture
extension section.
- The recruitment video for the AQFI Undergraduate program has
been added to the recruitment
video page. The video is available in one large file
(for broadband users) or multiple smaller file sizes (for 56k
users).
- Also, video clips or segments have been added to the recruitment
video page for those interested in a Fisheries Biology
degree.
- A new photo gallery is also in the works to be added to the
website. It will feature miscellaneous photos from
throughout the department.

The Aquaculture/Fisheries website is
undergoing major summer updates to pages, listings, etc.
Below is a list of a few changes:
- Added Research Guidelines
to Research section.
- The Water Gardens page is now operational with photo
galleries, articles and fact sheets available for public
viewing. You can visit the page [here].
- Added photo galleries and information of harvesting
equipment to "Harvesting
and Grading Fish" page in the "Extension"
- > "Aquaculture"
section.
- Updated Graduate Student Listings.
- "Virtual Tour"
(Facilities) page expanded to list more facilties. It
has been restructured and new images are being added.
- The International Association of Aquaculture Economics
Management website is now being run by the
Aquaculture/Fisheries Department Chair, Dr. Carole
Engle. The website can be found [here].
- All faculty photos (excluding those working for USDA) are up
and functional.
News on new updates will be posted when additional changes
have been made, etc.

Welcome to the new
Aquaculture/Fisheries Center website. Designed by Jonathan
Moore, the website was created using HTML and CSS. The new
design allows for easy control over the look and style of the
website while continuing to maintain a uniform look and feel.
Also, Information can be easily found by
navigating through the main categories on the left navigation
menu and then selecting the sub-category of your choice from the
top horizontal navigation menu. The new website features a
more professional look, better organizational structure, and
up-to-date information regarding everything about our
center. If you have any questions or comments related to
the website please contact the webmaster.
