Once separated and identified, museum
labels are filled out with collection
and identification information. This
includes, scientific name of the fish,
location caught, and the equipment
used to capture the sample. Specimens
are separated and grouped together
depending upon their location as well
as the methods they were caught with.
This gives researchers and students
the ability to use the information of
each species in ways other than simply
identifying fish.
