The specimen will then be kept for the duration of it's "life cycle" in the 70% ethanol solution.

Note: Although the fish museum specimen have been preserved, over time the specimens will eventually lose distinct colors, markings, etc. So periodicaly, newer specimen are added to replace the fish that have reached the end of their display shelf "life".
