Introduction
4H Baitcasting & Sportsfishing O'Rama     The Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries directs the Reel Into Sportfishing and Baitcasting activities at the county, regional, and state 4-H O-Ramas. The Reel into Sport Fishing Activity requires students to demonstrate knowledge in fish identification, fish habitat, fish tackle identification, and fishing knots. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) mobile aquarium is used for live fish identification, with the AGFC assisting the judges in the live fish ID portion of the activity. The Baitcasting and Fish ID Activity require students to demonstrate skills in casting and fish identification. The Reel into Sportfishing and Baitcasting activities are activities that have the following objectives: 1) to enhance environmental education, 2) create interest in recreational fishing, 3) improve knowledge of fishing techniques and fish habitat, and 4) introduce educational and career opportunities in the fields of fisheries management and aquatic sciences. Both activities have a junior and senior division in the county and regional O-Ramas, with only seniors participating in the State O-Rama.
