UAPB Fish Health Services:

UAPB Disease Labs

Facilities and Equipment

The UAPB Fish Disease Diagnostic Program has four laboratories located in regions of Arkansas where concentrations of fish farming exist. There are three field diagnostic labs (Newport, Lonoke, Lake Village) and a main laboratory on the UAPB campus. The field laboratories are all staffed by MS and Ph.D. level diagnosticians and BS trained technicians that have all the equipment necessary to collect and analyze samples of water and necropsy fish for the diagnosis of infectious diseases. The main laboratory at UAPB has the same diagnostic capabilities but is also equipped for molecular biology and diagnostic PCR, histopathology, virology, and a suite of analytical and preparative instruments for research. The UAPB facility is also equipped with aquariums. The facilities and equipment available in the UAPB Fish Disease Laboratory are listed below.
