Hello Fellow Co-workers and Friends!
Welcome to the Arkansas County Agriculture Agent’s Association webpage. You may be a new member of our association or maybe a longtime returning member. Please visit often and see what your association has to offer you and what you can do for your association.
Currently we are asking for a new chairperson for the Kountry Kitchen project. Kountry Kitchen is a public relations effort held during the Arkansas Association of Counties meeting in August each year. Sherry Eudy has been taking the lead on this and has done an outstanding job. However; she thinks it time to share the fun! Duties consist of working with agents to secure food donations, paper goods, and other products to put on a “deli style buffet” at the opening of the meeting. The meeting area is a hospitality type area where most delegates come to visit and see who all is attending the meeting. The work is not hard. Sherry has most of the preparations down to a fine art and is more than willing to share her techniques. The biggest responsibility is making sure the shopping is done and the setup is ready at opening session. Sherry will be glad to visit with any interested members to outline details for the chair. Contact her in Howard County.
I also want to direct your attention to the meetings link at the top of the page. The annual meeting is scheduled for March 27 and 28 at Mount Magazine State Park in Paris. Notice that you need to make your arrangements for lodging. The Park phone number is 1-877-665-6343. Use group number 465405 when making your reservation. Please make every effort to attend this important conference. The strength of your association depends on your involvement. We need you.
You will also find a link to the membership and awards section of our association. Please take the time to apply for awards in our association. You are all doing the work. Take the time to get the kudos that goes with it! Also, consider submitting a poster or presentation at our national meeting. It is a perfect way to showcase your programming and get some financial assistance to attend the AM/PIC.
I am honored to be your 2008 ACAAA President. I have experienced a lot of “firsts” in my extension career but being elected as the first female president of this association is one I am most proud of. I appreciate the faith my fellow agents place in my ability to lead this organization. I hope I live up to the standard set before me.
If I can do anything to help you and your career in
extension, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Carla Vaught
2008 ACAAA President
