Livestock Production

Livestock Production in Yell County includes commercial and purebred beef cattle operations, stocker cattle operations, dairy farms, and poultry and swine enterprises.  There are approximately 40,000 head of cattle and 45 million poultry in Yell County.

The Yell County Extension Service offers assistance to livestock producers through regular educational seminars, a quarterly Livestock newsletter, and ongoing programs such as Cow Herd Performance Testing, Arkansas Feedout, farm evaluations, and much more.
