Youth In Agriculture
Yell County 4-H members participate in a variety of agricultural
projects. Animal projects are always among the most popular with local
4-H’ers. Agricultural projects through 4-H and the Cooperative Extension
Service are a rewarding experience for 4-H youth which serve to teach important
life skills such as responsibility, money management, communication,
citizenship, and animal husbandry. 4-H projects in agriculture include
animal science, forestry, veterinary science, forages, vegetables and gardening,
general agriculture and much more.
The Yell County Extension office also offers special activities for youth in
agriculture such as:
- Adopt-A-Pen Feedout Program
- Horse Judging
- Livestock Judging
- Wildlife Habitat Evaluation Team
- Forestry Teams
- Grassland Evaluation
Contact one of our county 4H clubs or the Extension office to
learn more about youth in agriculture.
