4-H Youth Development
4-H Res-Q Program Offered to County Youth
Thirty students participated in the 4-H Res-Q program in Ferndale. Students were
introduced to a few of the non-venomous reptiles and amphibians that inhabit
Arkansas's forests, fields, streams and lakes. By learning the difference
between venomous and non-venomous reptiles, the students were encouraged to
develop positive attitudes and respect rather than fear and prejudice toward
these unique creatures. Students also, explored the diverse indigenous animals
that inhabit Arkansas' forests, fields and cities. As stewards and caretakers of
the earth, students realized the important role and responsibilities they have
toward the environment. Program was coordinated by Nikki Schaefer Family &
Consumer Sciences Agent and sponsored by Woodruff County Soil and Conservation
Office.
