Welcome to White County 4-H !

Have you ever wondered what 4-H is all about? Well, now is your opportunity to learn more about it. Arkansas 4-H is the youth development part of the Family, Youth, and 4-H Education program of the Cooperative Extension Service, Division of Agriculture, University of Arkansas.

The 4-H youth development program provides opportunities for youth to acquire knowledge, develop skills, form attitudes, and practice behavior that will enable them to become self-directing, productive, and contributing members of society.

The White County, Arkansas 4-H program is fortunate to be a United Way funded agency. Because of that, White County 4-H pays half of all camp and trip fees for each 4-H member. There are no membership fees to join 4-H. Ages of members range from 5-19. For competitions, 4-H’ers are divided into the following age groups:

  • Cloverbuds 5-8 years old
  • Juniors 9-13 years old
  • Seniors 14-19 years old

There are 14 community clubs scattered throughout the county. Also, there are two special interest clubs: Shooting Sports and Teen Leader Club (to participate in these, a 4-H member must be 14 years of age by January 1).

The 4-H emblem is a four-leaf clover with the letter H on each leaf. The four Hs stand for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health.

4-H motto: To Make the Best Better!

4-H Pledge:

I pledge my head to clearer thinking,
My heart to greater loyalty,
My hands to larger service
My health to better living, for my club, my community, my
Country and my world

4-H colors:

Green - nature’s most common color, symbolizes springtime, life, and youth
White - symbolizes purity and high ideals
