County Impact Statements - Washington County
The Washington County Cooperative Extension Service programs that are
highlighted in these reports are just a small number of the services that are
available. The primary programs are determined by County Extension Council
program planning committees who identify problems, set priorities, and determine
possible solutions.
Educational programs, result demonstrations, workshops, field days, clinics,
personal contacts, mass media, short courses, web page, and personal visits are
some of the teaching methods used to make available the latest research
information from our land-grant institution to the people of the county. This
program is a joint effort of the University of Arkansas, the United States
Department of Agriculture, and the county government. The Extension Service
continues to search for new methods to meet the life-long informal educational
needs of adults and youth of Washington County that will enrich lives, enhance
economic well-being, and protect the environment.
