County Impact Statements - Sharp County
"Power of YOUth"

Sharp County 4-H has been growing over the past several years. We currently have just over 100 youth involved. Youth can be involved in anything from aerospace to veterinary science and anything you can think of in between.

There are a lot of opportunities for the 4-H’ers once they get involved in 4-H on the county level - bluebird workshop, county poultry barbecue, community service projects, county O’Rama, poultry chain and the county fair. Sharp County youth also participate in many district and state activities such as forestry and wildlife camp, Ross photography, district 4-H outings, district and state horse show, teen challenge camp, leadership forum and the list goes on and on.

School programs are a very important part of our curriculum. The county agents get into the schools whenever possible to do a program to fit into the students’ current studies.

None of the above would be possible without our volunteer leaders, parents, and teachers. All who give of themselves time and time again for the sake of the youth in our county.

4-H members county-wide teamed up with the Master Gardeners to make Mother’s Day planters.
