Agriculture is an important enterprise in Sebastian County Arkansas.  The University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service has a wealth of information on all aspects of agriculture in Arkansas as well as many services available to our residents.  Please call our office for more information on any of the programs or services listed below. 

Sebastian County Forage Improvement Program

Sebastian County Forage Improvement ProgramvThe Sebastian County Forage Improvement Program is an ongoing demonstration program geared for forage producers.  This program primarily focuses on proper soil fertilization, herbicide selection and application as well as forage variety selection.  This program is primarily carried out in the form of on-farm demonstrations.  Field days are scheduled to inform Sebastian County forage producers of the results of these on-farm demonstrations.  Call for more information about the Sebastian County Forage Improvement Program. 

Sebastian County Beef Producer’s Lunch

Come join us for lunch and some casual discussion about beef production practices.  This is a good opportunity to talk to other producers and discuss some of the most recent research being done at the University of Arkansas.  The beef producer lunch program is a grassroots program designed especially for our counties’ beef producers. Call to suggest a topic or find out the time and date of the next Sebastian County Beef Producer’s Lunch.

Pesticide Applicator Training

The PAT is for forage producers who want to purchase restricted use chemicals to spray on their own property.  This 2½-hour training involves pesticide safety, nitrogen management.  Call to find out when the next Pesticide Applicator Training will be held in your area or check out the pesticide applicator’s training calendar web site.
