Extension Homemakers - Learning, Leading, and Sharing
Extension Homemakers are people just like you. They work, shop, and sit next
to you at ball games. They like to learn everything from A to Z to better
themselves, their family, their neighbors, and their community. They are moms,
grandmothers, and retired men and women.
Extension Homemakers get the latest information from the Cooperative
Extension Service in the areas of Improving Diet, Nutrition and Health,
Extending Resources, Strengthening Families, Leadership Development, and Special
Community Projects. Members share information learned with other club members,
neighbors, friends and the community.
Sebastian County Extension Homemakers also work together to share their
knowledge, skills, and time with the community. During the last year they have
worked with the following organizations to provide service or goods: Sparks
Regional Medical Center, St. Edwards Mercy Medical Center, Clearing House Back
Pack for Kids Program, Women’s Crisis Center, Hospice, Reynolds Cancer Support
House, Pink Bud Nursing Home, Oak Lodge Nursing Home, Department of Human
Services Foster Children Christmas Program and Sebastian County 4-H Foundation.
Members made and donated needed items to the above organizations. They not
only shared their sewing skills, but their time and money with these groups in
order to improve the quality of life for many in the county.
