Helping Hands 4-H Touching Lives

The Little Rock Air Force Base Youth Collaboration Project (LRAFB YCP) is a pilot project combining resources of USDA U. S. Air Force through partnership of LRAFB Family Member Programs, Family Advocacy Program, and the University of Arkansas Cooperation Extension Service. Military youth and families are involved in 4-H/Youth Development Programs as a result of the collaboration.

"4-H has served a great deal in my life. It has helped me socially and mentally. Leadership has also impacted a major role in serving 4-H. It gave me a better reputation. 4-H helped me cope with some of everyday life problems that plague me. I have learned to be a better role model." - Ellis O. Woodall, Charter President, Helping Hands 4-H Club

"4-H has given me the opportunity to gain leadership skills including public speaking and decision-making. When we have differences of opinion, we have to respect each others' ideas and promote cooperation among members. Through establishing our Club Treasury, we are responsible for financial management. Through volunteer service, I strive to 'Make the Best Better"' - Ryan Childers, 2001, 2002 President, Helping Hands 4-H Club

"The growth, education, leadership, challenges and excitement that 4-H provides for youth is necessary, and is done in such a way that couldn't happen elsewhere." - Jesse Alsip, 4-H Adult Volunteer Leader, Helping Hands 4-H Club
