Polk County Master Gardeners Accomplishments
Polk County Housing Authority
The Polk County Housing Authority requested that the Master Gardeners improve
the landscape around their main building--the location where we have our monthly
meetings!
Mae Dean Hoover designed the beds, Sam Tobias created drawings to present to
the PCMG membership, and it was decided to undertake this as a sanctioned
project.
Some beds were simply cleaned up and the existing plants left in place; the
star-shaped bed in front was reworked; still other beds were created from
scratch.
Master Gardeners furnished the expertise and the labor; the Housing Authority
purchased the soil amendments, gravel, and plants.
