helped me gain confidence and prepare me for future leadership roles."

Preparing motivated individuals to take prominent roles in reshaping our
future has been a hallmark of Extension. Through the Youth Leadership program,
it was our goal to provide teens with training opportunities which will guide
them from personal leadership development to community issue awareness and on to
action in giving back to their community. These teens become positive role
models among their peers and accept leadership roles in their school and
community.
"No one person can do everything, everyone contributes something different,
so if you work together you can accomplish more" is a common statement heard
among the teens in the program.
In addition to the 25 teens in the Youth Leadership Program, 118 teens took
part in leadership training on the County, State, Regional and National levels
of 4-H. 85 teens and 777 adults took leadership roles in conducting county 4-H
activities.
