If you are a Faulkner County resident who would like to share
gardening knowledge and want to learn more eco-friendly, sustainable
gardening practices, you may be interested in becoming a Master
Gardener. During the training classes, participants receive more
than 40 hours of training on the following topics:
- Plant and soil science
- Lawn selection and maintenance
- Vegetable and ornamental plant gardening
- Trees and shrubs
- Fruit basics
- Pest management and pesticide usage
- Pruning and other horticulture related subjects
Classes are formed each fall. You can contact the Faulkner County
Extension Office (see above) for more information on the application (PDF) process. If Conway and Perry Counties do not have enough members to
make up a class, these residents may participate in the training
with Faulkner County.
