County Impact Statements - Conway County
4-H is a Family Affair for the Danny Parrish Family
County-wide activities that provide opportunities for 4-H’ers to learn skills
include public speaking, talent, foods demonstration, fashion revue, outdoor o-rama,
annual awards banquet and county fair. Conway County youth also participate in
state camps, Citizenship-Washington Focus and the state fair.
County 4-H’ers are involved in many community activities, donating their time
to such things as the Great Arkansas Pig Out, Farm Bureau annual dinner, 4-H
Foundation luncheon, trees in county for Arbor Day, Christmas in the Park and
decorations for county tree at state capitol.
Day camps for 4-H’ers and community youth focused on the study of Indian
heritage including making dream catchers, rain makers, tee pees, and recipes.
Table manners classes are a tremendous opportunity for young people. - Conway

4-H is not just about animals. It is about developing self-esteem, learning
to keep records, speaking in front of groups, making life-long friends, trips
and much much more. 4-H is one of my best experiences. - Senior 4-H Member

- 127 youth enrolled in 4-H clubs.
- 950 youth involved in non 4-H club activities.
- 233 youth who participated in competitive activities.
- 101 youth participated in non-competitive activities.
- 50 youth who participated in community service projects.
- 64 youth who reported working in one or more educational project areas.
- 94 3rd graders completed a three hour table manners class.
