Physical Endurance - "Nutrition and Good Looks"

Most Junior High students are more concerned with the way they look than with how nutritionally sound their bodies are.

The number one question asked by Junior High youth is "What will eating right do for me?"

The food guide pyramid offered a sound nutrition eating plan that can be easily followed by youth that will allow them to eat well and achieve adequate nutrition to support growth at this special age. This project educated 697 Junior High students in proper nutrition. The food jeopardy game was used as an evaluation tool. This game allows the students to answer question about food serving sizes and the nutrients that it supply. This game allows the students to work together to come up with the correct answer as a team., giving the group a high level of self esteem. These students are able to judge for themselves why eating fruit and fruit juice would be better than eating a candy bar and soda.
