Landscaping and Gardening are Popular Hobbies for Cleveland County
Residents
Gardening and landscaping are two very popular activities for residents of
Cleveland County. The growing interest in landscaping has led to a number of
opportunities for seminars and projects. Residents are always eager to learn new
techniques in landscaping.
County 4-Hers and adult volunteers helped out the county by cleaning existing
beds and planting flowers and shrubs to beautify the courthouse. In the process
of landscaping, participants learned how to plant shrubs and flowers at the
proper depth and how to space them out so that they have plenty of room to
develop. County participants also learned about mulching, fertilizing, and
keeping beds weed free.
I really had a good time helping with the landscaping of the courthouse and
planting flowers at the Extension office. I hope that we can do it again
next year.

The Cleveland County Extension office receives several calls each year on
questions about landscaping and gardening. We also get several requests to
do seminars and landscaping designs for residents of the county.
