A variety of animated soybean look-alikes from Smiley Central helped produce a simple, but effective, program to bring agriculture into Clay County classrooms. It is a PowerPoint presentation called “The Amazing Soybean: the greatest little bean the world has ever seen.”

The program is a fun way for students to learn some of the many, and often surprising, ways that the soybeans produced in Clay County are used to help make things that people need and use every day. The program is designed for grades K–4, but older students and adults enjoy the informative facts and comical animations as well.

Impacts

The Amazing Soybean program helped a total of 271 youths and 8 adults learn how a locally produced commodity is used to make a long list of products that are needed and used daily by people all over the world.
