Reshape Yourself: Promotes Healthy Lifestyle

Reshape Yourself is 15 weeks of nutrition education and group support for individuals wanting to lose weight, increase exercise and develop an overall healthier lifestyle. There were no gimmicks, no special items to buy, nor "quick fixes". However, participants were encouraged to make lifelong behavorial changes which resulted in creating positive dietary practices. Blood pressure checks along with cholesterol and blood glucose testing were administered before the program, and cholesterol checked at the close of the program to show how more sensible eating and an increase in exercise can many times take the place of medication or at least postpone it.

"I am exercising more, reading more food labels, and am much more aware of what I am putting in my mouth. I don’t reach for chips, candy and cookies as I used to do, and I don’t eat out as much. I think more about eating healthy foods." - Reshape Yourself Participant

"This has been the most helpful weight loss program I have ever been in. I didn’t reach my goal, but what I lost was a big accomplishment. I have been using more low fat foods and walking more. Not only has this helped me, but my husband has also lost weight, lowered his blood pressure and blood glucose. I feel extremely successful!"- Reshape Yourself Graduate
