County Impact Statements - Benton County
America's Promise: Benton County 4-H Fulfills the Five Promises

Caring Adults - Benton County leaders attend training so they can be even better volunteers and assist youth. Madelyn Chaney stated, "I look at the new friends I have made and supportive adults I have met through the 4-H program and I know that they, and 4-H have helped make me the person I am today".

Safe Places - 4-H members and adults feel safe to try new things, give reports, run for office, conduct business meetings and many more opportunities to nurture young people’s skills. Cassie Androes stated, "Sometimes I have needed that extra push that only a leader or parent can provide. For me, I think 4-H means becoming the best I can in all those areas that are important in succeeding in life".

Healthy Start - To 4-H members the words Head - Heart - Hands - Health mean so much. Having clubs in all areas of the county, youth have opportunities for a healthy start. Skyler Mills stated, "It takes a lot of character and self-discipline to maintain a healthy and happy lifestyle. I have been a member of 4-H for eight years and through my involvement in this organization I have been able to maintain a high level of living. I realize the importance of upholding the 4-H standards that have grown to be part of who I am".

Marketable Skills - Employers need our 4-H members who have learned to work with others, can teach others and can solve problems creatively.

Opportunities to Serve - Samantha Wagner stated, "I have learned the importance of setting a good example. I remember when I was younger, looking up to Senior 4-Her’s. Now, I am the one setting an example for younger members. My one wish is that some day I’ll be able to give back what 4-H has given me".
