Bernadette Hinkle was appointed Associate Director for Finance & Administration, University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension, on September 15, 2000. She serves as the Chief Fiscal Officer for the Extension Service and is responsible for all financial management and administrative support faculty. Ms. Hinkle’s administrative oversight includes the Affirmative Action Office, Financial Services, Human Resources, Information Technology, Communications, Physical Plant and the Print Shop. In addition, Ms. Hinkle is the Arkansas 4-H Foundation and the National 4-H Congress Treasurer. Ms. Hinkle received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 1986 and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1989. She received her Masters in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock in 1999. Currently, she is completing her dissertation in the College of Education, Higher Education Administration doctorate program. Shortly after beginning her professional career, she opened her own accounting office and provided tax, audit, and financial services for individuals and small businesses. Prior to joining the Extension Service, Ms. Hinkle held several positions with the University of Arkansas System. She served as Associate Director of Internal Audit, the Director of Financial Reporting and in 1997, Ms. Hinkle became Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration for the University of Arkansas System. Ms. Hinkle has taught principles of accounting, accounting information systems and CPA review courses. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants, Association of Governmental Accountants and the National Association of College and University Business Officers. |
