[Willa] Before every bike ride, you need to do an "ABC" quick check. The check stands for doing a small check ride before you take off for your longer ride. But personally, I always make sure I have the best accessories while I'm out on the road. I always remember to bring my helmet, my gloves and my sunglasses for protection. I bring my cell phone and my ID just in case there's an accident on the road. And I also bring some money, just in case I want to get some food or some water or drinks out on the road as well.

But one of the things that's important to put on your bike is this important accessory; the tool bag. So I'm here with Sam from Community Bicyclist and he's going to help me fill up this brand new tool bag for my long ride. So Sam, what do I need to put in this tool bag?

[Sam] Well, the most important thing I think is supplies to fix a flat, because that's the most common problem you're going to have out there on the road or trail. Make sure you have a spare inner tube of the right size, you're going to need tire levers to get the tire off the rim, there's a couple of different types. You can carry a patch kit in case you want to patch the old inner tube instead of replace it. You're going to need a way to inflate the tire. Can go with a CO2 system which is very compact. This one would probably fit right in the seat bag. Or you can go with a frame pump, a little larger but definitely fool proof. And that attaches to the bike frame. We have a multi-tool kit here, which, other than major repairs, you can adjust or fix just about anything on the bike with the tools that are in this kit. This one's nice and compact and comes with a little container that would also fit in the seat bag.

[Willa] Well thanks Sam. I think I can fit all of these in my tool bag, and I'm sure I can use them on the road and there's one other thing I might need for the road as well. What's that?

[Sam] Water bottle. You gotta drink water.

[Willa] So we've gone through our "ABC" quick check and now we're ready to ride.
