Seining

Chao: It is a very nice day out today and the water is warm, so we decided to come out and seine. Now, seineing is that right there.

[Chao motions to three people dragging a weighted net across a portion of the river/lake.]

Chao: It's a method we use to sample. You got two people on each side of the net with poles, and they pull the net in and hopefully catch some fish. Just wait, so we'll just stand over here and watch them.

[Inaudible]

Chao: So Nekea, what are you doing?

Nekea: Um, well we're seining to catch some fish.

Chao: So, actually, I think we'll go weigh and measure the fish before we go back to class. And thats one of the things we're going to do.
