Salary and benefits: $25,000/year with group health, life, and disability insurance; retirement and social security benefits; worker's compensation, paid holidays and vacation leave; and University of Arkansas tuition discount for employee, spouse, and children.
Qualifications: Applicants must have at least a B.Sc. degree in one of the following fields: aquaculture, fisheries biology, natural resources, human resources, outdoor recreation, or parks and tourism. Applicants with a degree in a related science field also will be eligible. The applicant must have strong communication (oral and written) and personal skills. The applicant must be comfortable working with teachers, high school students, and undergraduate students from culturally diverse backgrounds. The applicant must have the ability to represent the University in a variety of recruitment venues, and seek to recruit qualified students for the National Cooperative Fisheries Scholars (NCFS) program wherever possible. The applicant must be capable of developing effective working relationships with high school and junior college teachers and counselors from around the country and be willing and able to travel nationally. Experience with student recruitment is highly desirable.
