Title:  Publicity & Student Recruiting Specialist II (National Cooperative Fisheries Scholarship Program)

Qualifications:   Applicants must have at least a B.Sc. degree in one of the following fields: aquaculture, fisheries biology, natural resources, human resources, outdoor recreation, or parks and tourism.  Applicants with a degree in a related science field also will be eligible. The applicant must have strong communication (oral and written) and personal skills.  The applicant must be comfortable working with teachers, high school students, and undergraduate students from culturally diverse backgrounds.  The applicant must have the ability to represent the University in a variety of recruitment venues, and seek to recruit qualified students for the National Cooperative Fisheries Scholars (NCFS) program wherever possible. The applicant must be capable of developing effective working relationships with high school and junior college teachers and counselors from around the country and be willing and able to travel nationally.  Experience with student recruitment is highly desirable.

Description:  Develop and conduct a national student recruiting program for the NCFS scholarship program.  Ability to develop and pursue innovative recruitment techniques and strategies.  Applicant must provide support for the entire NCFS program including writing program annual reports, managing program budgets, arranging work experiences for individual scholars, completing all routine program paperwork, working with the UAPB Financial Aid Office to insure scholarships are processed and posted each semester, and assisting in the general oversight of program.  Additional duties related to departmental goals for undergraduate recruiting and retention required periodically.  Position is grant-funded and contingent upon future funding.
